4. Paint peeling – How effective is the result from aging of rusty nails stains

from:

Often, paint comes off in flakes and cracking up the surfaces. The house then begins to resemble a scaled alligator. It will happen if the paint is not coherent to the surface due to any reason: Moisture, oil, siding problem or rusty nails.

When nails rust, they cause the neighboring area to go orange. In time, the redness swells almost as on itchy skin. This begins to get into the painting texture and painting starts to peel. You should keep observing the house nails and screw out the nails if they rust. Then you should gouge the holes with sand or cement. Then give the surface solid grounding. Prime the surface before giving it the suitable paint. Always check whether the walls are cemented or brick kilned. Painting will stay for a longer time on cement than kilned surfaces. This is because of the absorbing property of cement.

Whenever you stick a nail into the wall, try doing it on wood. Punctuate the walls with wooden surplices. They act as nail carriers and they also allow for slight expansion of the home during summer. Inserting it into cement will definitely make it rust faster and then the entire disintegrating process of walls start. Better still; use clampers instead of nails. That will mean no intrusion into the walls. If your paint is breaking into wrinkles, just section-remove it and do the affected part again with slight brush. The new color has to be watered down till it matches the old color’s intensity. You should also be careful against blisters. They are caused by moisture brought about by vapors working in plumbing equipments. There are also temperature blisters in times when summer gets agonizingly hot.

To protect the walls from paint peeling, worthy priming is necessary. This is in effect, an undercoating before the original paint. It has to be done uniformly and airbrushes and sanders are urgent tools. For the ceiling, you may need air spray. Keep plastic and paint tapes along with you and underline the edges. Keep away from lead poisoning and this means that you have to prime and paint with protective devices on. If you want your paint to be a permanent solution, you should never opt for oil paint. Oil paint looks very stylish and flamboyant but it is most prone to titillation along with the aging of rusted nails. It is hard to correct when it flakes off. It oxidizes quite fast and is also highly vulnerable to weather threats.

It is better to go for latex paint or distempers. Just do not forget to plug all holes and alcoves. Do not keep the house damp to encourage rusting. And avoid paint peeling at all costs.
